Protect Your Home From Springtime Basement Flooding

Protect Your Home From Springtime Basement Flooding

After heavy spring snows, incidents of basement water damage increase here in Colorado. Melting snow causes the ground to become more and more saturated as temperatures rise. The majority of these incidents are due to issues with basement sump pumps and clogged up water spouts. Here are some tips to protect your home from being flooded this spring.

1. Inspect & Test Your Sump Pump. Check the pump to make sure it is clear of any debris that could cause an issue when ground saturation occurs. Test the pump by adding a few gallons of water to the reservoir to make sure it is functioning properly.

2. Inspect Water Spouts. Do some basic investigating to ensure that your water spouts have not been clogged up with debris over the fall & winter. Not maintaining these items can cause significant damage to the foundation and other components. Clean gutters, and check how the water flows inside the gutter to ensure proper pitch and termination into the downspouts.

3.Plan Ahead. Consider purchasing a back-up pump in case your primary pump fails during high-water times. This could save you a big chunk of change in the event of a failure.

10 New Homes Released in Superior’s Calmante Neighborhood

10 New Homes Released in Superior’s Calmante Neighborhood

Boulder Creek Neighborhoods just announced the release of 10 (of the final 20) homes in this beautiful, low-maintenance Calmante Releaseneighborhood. These large, luxury townhomes have become Boulder Creek Neighborhoods’ fastest-selling residential project. Not your typical townhomes, the low-maintenance Calmante units range from 3,000 – 4,000 square feet and are priced from the low $600,000s to the mid $800,000s. For more information, including floor plans and community maps, click here.

Calmante’s townhomes are very popular for two reasons — they offer a low-maintenance luxury lifestyle along with the appeal of purchasing a brand new home. What exactly does low-maintenance mean? As a Calmante resident, you can say goodbye to lawn mowing, raking leaves and shoveling snow. By purchasing a Calmante home new, buyers have the opportunity to make personal selections,  enjoy innovative energy efficient appliances, and attain the peace of mind that comes with a new home warranty.
